Westhaven State Park is located adjacent to Westport Light State Park, which is a 212-acre park on the shore of the Pacific Ocean. The park offers panoramic sea views. The historic Westport Lighthouse is adjacent to the park. A concrete boardwalk crosses the primary dune, connecting this park with Westhaven State Park, 2km away.   This spot is recommended for intermediate to advanced riders who are up for a wave riding session.  The waves are smooth and often small which offer long rides.  The beach at Westhaven is tucked below the South Jetty directly west of Westport.   Westhaven is a premier surfing location in Washington.  Winter is best for surfing as the waves are rather small in summer; ranging between 1-3m in height with a NW, W or SW swell.   The steady SE, NE or E winds are best for this spot at an average of 13 - 24 knots.  The beach can get crowded on summer weekends.  The water is cold all year round and a wetsuit is recommended, add booties and a hoodie in winter.
