About Shui Hau Wan, Hong Kong

Shui Hau Wan Beach is a lovely bay on the south coast of Lantau Island in Hong Kong, surrounded by the South China Sea. The winds blow predominantly from the east, but sometimes south or northeasterly cross to cross-onshore. The best time to visit to catch the windy season is from March to June, although November sees some good wind too. Its shallow, flat-to-choppy waters make this spot perfect for beginners wishing to learn how to kitesurf. The sea is nice and warm in the summer months, although a wetsuit is certainly needed in the winter.
