About Scarborough Beach, Perth

Scarborough Beach lies on the southwest coast of Australia, Perth, surrounded by the Indian Ocean, and is famous for its beautiful white sand, big waves, and epic surfing conditions. Visit from November to March and catch the reliable south-westerly coming from the Fremantle Doctor or Freo Doctor - the name given to the cooling afternoon sea breezes that occur along the southern coast of Western Australia in its summer season. This wind system builds throughout the day, providing perfect conditions from midday onwards. Perth is an ideal location for kitesurfers wanting to play in the waves, with beach breaks producing waves of up to10ft. Crystal-clear, warm summer seas mean you won’t need a wetsuit unless you’re visiting out of season. And if the wind doesn't blow, simply grab your surfboard and paddle out.
