San Pedro is a town on the southern part of the island of Ambergris Caye in Belize in Central America   The kiting spot is located on one of the largest shallow water lagoon in the Caribbean with a white sandy bottom. The private sandy beach provides the best and safest kitesurf spot ever. Kiting is possible in the ocean or the lagoon.   The best wind is from October to July with constant and steady Caribbean trade winds. The wind is strongest from March till July with the best directions being E and ESE from 15-20 knots   There is a barrier reef 1.2km east of the island which creates flat, crystal clear and shallow conditions between the reef and the island. The waves in the ocean reach up to a 3m in height.   Be careful of the anchored boats. The launch spots in town are small but better and more open up north

To get to Ambergris Caye, San Pedro, you hop onto the Belize Express, or fly on the hourly scheduled flights with Tropic Air.   There is a boat supplied by Kite Explorer which takes you to the kiting spot

San Pedro is known for fishing, diving and snorkelling. It has the second largest coral reef in the world. There is a good nightlife and a variety of restaurants in town, mainly Mexican.
