The City of Rufus is located in Oregon, in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, 160km east of Portland and 160km West of Pendleton.
Rufus is recommended for intermediate to advanced
kiters. The launch area is large and consists of round pebbles. The water gets murky at times and is flat with a small chop, which can get bigger during strong winds, and become a rolling swell up to 3m in height. The best months for kiting are from June to September on a SW, W, WNW and WSW Wind with an average of 25 – 40 knots. The wind is usually steady but can get extremely gusty. Summers are hot, up to 30C, autumn 18C and winter 1C.
