Rowena is located right in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge on the border between Oregon and Washington in the NW United States. Rowena Shores is a 5 acre private estate. It is a premier windsurfing location on the Columbia River, just downriver from the famous Doug's Beach.   The launching spot is to the east end of the park where you will find a small sandy spot to rig up your gear. Do not launch from the rocks as they are uneven and slippery. It is an intermediate to advanced riding spot.  The water is flat with a small chop.  It is a popular windsurfing spot; be careful of windsurfers, other beach users, boats and rocks.    The best kiting months are from May to September on a W, NW and WNW direction.   There are bathrooms available and pay parking.
