Ocean Shores is a laid back beach town in Grays Harbor County, Washington, United States.  It is a popular surfing and kitesurfing spot.   The Ocean Shores beach is sandy and long, and the water and air temperatures are cold.  A wetsuit is recommended in the summer and a dry suit, hoody and booties in winter.   The recommended wind direction is a N, S, NW and SW with an average of 5 – 15knots.  The height of the waves ranges from 1-3m and the swell is great when it comes from a S or SW direction on a mid and high tide.  It is recommended for intermediate to advanced riders.  The currents can be strong and the waves unpredictable. There is ample space on the beach to rig up your gear.

The sand on the beach is hard and drivable; you can drive right to your setting up spot.  Seattle is the closest city which is approximately 2.5 hours from Ocean Shores.
