Manzanita is a peaceful, coastal village in Tillamook County, Oregon in United States. It is surrounded by the natural beauty of the Pacific Ocean, Neah-Kah-Nie Mountain and forests.  Manzanita means "little apple" in Spanish.   Manzanita is one of the windiest spots on the Oregon coast. It is recommended for intermediate to advanced riders for wave and freestyle riding.  The waves vary in size depending on the swell and get up to 1 – 3m height.  It is a soft, sandy, wide and open beach with ample space to rig up your gear; it does not often become crowded here. The best months for kitesurfing are from March to October on a clean and steady NW wind direction with an average of 10 – 25 knots. The temperatures are around 16c in summer and a low of 4c in January. A full wetsuit is recommended with booties and gloves.

There are public showers on the beach but no other facilities unless you head back into the town of Manzanita.   Visitors to Manzanita enjoy its 11km of quiet ocean beach, a nine-hole golf course and two state parks for camping; Oswald West State Park to the north and Nehalem Bay State Park on the south.   Neah-Kah-Nie Mountain extends dramatically down into the sea on the north end of Manzanita.
