The small coastal village of Elandsbaai along the West Coast is situated in the Swartland area between the cold Atlantic Ocean and the Baviaans Mountains and is a hotspot for surfers, kitesurfers and windsurfers from around the world.  The town has a laid-back lifestyle for which the West Coast is well known for and is a perfect place to unwind.    Elandsbaai boasts its 5km of unspoilt beaches with perfect consistent waves which are world class for surfing and kitesurfing.  The wind is best from October to March with directions from W, NW, SE, S and SW.

Elandsbaai is located approximately 230 km north of Cape Town. The closest airport is Cape Town International.  Car Rentals are available at the airport.

Elandsbaai is known for its fresh seafood.  The nearby town, Lamberts Bay is a traditional fishing village where you will experience friendly locals and unspoilt beaches.  Elandsbaai is the ideal location to enjoy activities such as canoeing, surfing, rock climbing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, mountain biking, diving, beach walks, 4x4 trails, dolphin spotting and whale watching. The Southern Right Whales are in the area from June to November.  The closest kite schools; Cape Sports Centre and Wind Chasers, are in Langebaan, which is approximately a 91km drive.  Stay at the Elands Bay Guest house or the Elands Bay Hotel which offer accommodation from self catering to backpacking.  There is ample space on the beach to rig up your gear.  Picnic spots are available on the beach, where you can also see the quaint fisher houses nestled below the pristine sand dunes.
