About El Yaque, Venezuela
El Yaque sits on the southern coast of Margarita, the largest island north of Venezuela, surrounded by the Caribbean Sea – and it is absolutely gorgeous. The warm shallow turquoise water, sandy beaches, Latin American culture, music, beach bars, and nightlife make a visit here a truly amazing experience not to be missed.
El Yaque boasts almost 365 days a year of reliable easterly winds. These winds are so consistent and strong due partly to them being funnelled through the islands in a venturi effect. The beach is fairly small, but offers an adequate and safe space to launch, learn, and land. The wind builds throughout the day and usually blows cross-shore, occasionally cross-off.
The sea is very flat close to shore, making it perfect for beginners and those practising new tricks. It then gets choppier further out. For the best conditions, visit the island between January and June. Traveling to El Yaque, Venezuela
