About Damon Point, Ocean Shores, Washington, USA
Damon Point is a 61-acre park, on the southeastern tip of the Ocean Shores Peninsula. The sandy beach is 1.6km long and 800m wide.
This is a super spot for kiting inside the bay in winter on a smooth NE, E or W direction. A southerly is gusty and not recommended. Damon Point is recommended for beginner to advanced riders on a mid to low tide; the water is butter flat, depending on the wind speed and currents. If you’re up for a wave riding session, walk to the south shore of the peninsula, the waves can get big, powerful and fast here, which makes it difficult for beginners.
There is not much space to rig up your gear and launch and land on a high tide, which would make it an intermediate to advanced spot. The beach also has a lot of rocks, logs, bushes and a jetty.
The water is cold and a wetsuit is recommended in
summer and a
drysuit,
hoody and booties in winter.
