About Cumbuco, Brazil

Cumbuco is a small fishing village situated to the northeast of Brazil, about a 45-minute drive from Fortaleza airport. The conditions are awesome for kitesurfers of all levels, with a small shore dump, then flat water with a slight sea swell. Cumbuco beach has to be one of the most beautiful kitesurfing locations you can find. The shore dump at certain times of the year can get quite large, at up to a metre, but those looking for waves will need to head further out. The powerful and consistent trade winds mean the region is alive with kitesurfers almost all year round.

Traveling to Cumbuco, Brazil

Fortaleza airport has regular fights to Europe, with Amsterdam the most frequently used route, as the time difference is only four hours, which means little in terms of jet lag. The usual car hire facilities are available, with Cumbaco a 35-minute drive away. For a far more exciting way to explore the various beaches along the coast, though, you can hire a dune buggy.
