About Belfair State Park, Washington, USA
Belfair State Park is located on the Hood Canal in Mason County, Washington. It consists of 63 acres of mudflats and beach, including 1,130 m saltwater shoreline.
Belfair State Park has saltwater tide flats, wetlands with wind-blown beach grasses and pleasant areas for beach walking and saltwater swimming.
When the winds pick up, kiteboarders skim across the flat water on S or SW winds, sometimes on a NE direction. The wind is best from September to May. The water does get choppy, depending on the wind speed. Rig up your gear on the grass area, the wind can be gusty at the launching spot. Be careful of the oyster beds at low tide, always wear booties. Do not body drag close to the shore.
