Considered amongst the scientific community to be the birthplace of man, this is an area rapidly becoming known as a kitesurfing location as heady and untamed as its wildlife – and a hot one at that! The conditions here vary depending on where you are, with the Cape Verde islands, just off the coast of Senegal, boasting summer temperatures of between 20 – 27C! The trade winds here blow north/northeast throughout the year, with awesome conditions. Egypt offers butter-flat water, shallow lagoons, and steady thermal winds. Whereas South Africa is renowned for its ‘wild wind month of January’ – just think back to school and stories of shipwrecks off the Cape of Good Hope and you’ve got the idea! There is also Morocco, which has strong winds all year round, suitable for all levels.
